OUR STORY. OUR PRIDE
Doma United Football Club, popularly known as “The Savannah Tigers” is a professional football club from Gombe State, Nigeria, with a growing reputation for resilience, ambition and competitive spirit.
Our journey to the top of Nigerian football has been built on hard work, determination and a strong belief in the future of the club.
Doma United earned promotion to the Nigeria National League (NNL) during the 2021/2022 season. Rather than stopping there, the club immediately took another major step forward by finishing top of their group, earning promotion to the Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) in 2022.
In our first season among Nigeria’s elite clubs, the Savannah Tigers finished fifth in Group B of the abridged league, narrowly missing out on a place in the Super Six playoffs.
The following season brought a difficult chapter as the club was relegated from the NPFL at the end of the 2023/24 campaign. Rather than allowing that setback to define us, Doma United returned to work with renewed determination.
After a season in the Nigeria National League in 2024/25 without immediate promotion, the club came back stronger in the 2025/26 NNL campaign.
A CLUB POWERED BY ITS FANS
One of Doma United's greatest strengths is its passionate and dedicated supporters. The club enjoys a loyal fan base whose support goes beyond match days. Their energy, songs and noise from the stands provide an extra source of motivation for the players and create a strong home advantage.
This support was particularly evident during the 2023/24 NPFL season, when Doma United achieved a remarkable club record at the Pantami Stadium, Gombe. The team went 10 consecutive home matches without conceding a goal or losing, this highlighted the club’s strength and the impact of its home support.
